What is Aikyashree Scheme?

Aikyashree is a special scholarship scheme launched by the West Bengal Government for students belonging to socially and economically backward minority communities. The aim is to provide financial support to minority students so they can continue their studies without obstacles.

Students who have progressed from one class to another or who have completed school and are studying in college or higher education are eligible for this scholarship, provided by the West Bengal Minorities Development & Finance Corporation (WBMDFC).

The scholarship extends up to the PhD level. Based on class level, the scholarship is divided into two parts:

  • Pre-Matric Scholarship (Class 1–10)
  • Post-Matric Scholarship (Class 11–PhD)

Also, based on marks:

  • Students scoring 50%+ can apply for Aikyashree Scholarship.
  • Students scoring 60%+ may qualify for Swami Vivekananda Scholarship.

Benefits of Aikyashree Scheme

Pre-Matric Scholarship:

  • Class 1–5: ₹1,100
  • Class 6–10: ₹5,500

Post-Matric Scholarship:

  • Class 11–12: ₹10,200
  • Undergraduate & Postgraduate: ₹6,600
  • M.Phil & PhD: ₹9,300
  • Medical, Engineering, Law, and Professional Courses: ₹27,500

For hostel boarders:

  • Class 6–10: ₹11,000
  • Class 11–12: ₹11,900
  • UG & PG: ₹9,300
  • M.Phil & PhD: ₹16,500
  • Medical, Engineering, Law: ₹33,000

Who Can Apply? (Eligibility)

  • Applicant must be from a minority community (Muslim, Jain, Christian, Sikh).
  • Applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
  • Minimum 50% marks required.
  • Annual family income must be below ₹2 lakh.
  • SC, ST, and OBC applicants are also included.

Who Cannot Apply?

  • Non-minority candidates.
  • Candidates scoring above 60% (they qualify for another scheme).
  • Annual income above ₹2 lakh.

  • Aadhar card / Voter ID (Identity proof)
  • Bank passbook (first page)
  • Registered mobile number
  • Previous year’s marksheet
  • Admission receipt of the current institution
  • Printed copy of online application & documents submitted to respective school/college

  3. Click on New Registration.
  4. Select district and your educational institution.
  5. Fill the registration form with:

    • Final submission
  6. Upload required documents.
  7. Review and submit the application.
