Most students wish to pursue higher education after completing Madhyamik (Class 10) or Higher Secondary (Class 12). Many want to take up professional courses, while others aim to complete master’s degrees or even PhDs. However, students from poor or middle-class families often fail to continue their education due to high expenses. As a result, many are forced to discontinue their studies.
To solve this problem, the West Bengal Government, under the initiative of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, launched the Student Credit Card Scheme.
Through this card, eligible students can take loans of up to ₹10 lakh from banks. Students up to 40 years of age can apply for this loan, and the State Government acts as the guarantor. This ensures that students can pursue their education without hesitation or financial fear.
All types of educational expenses can be covered through this loan under the Student Credit Card Scheme.
Let’s now look at the eligibility criteria, documents required, and interest rates for applying. If you want to get an education loan or are interested in getting a Student Credit Card, then this information will be especially important for you.
